Patrick Widmer grew up in Basel, studied graphic design at the Lucerne School of Design & Art and visual communication at the Basel School of Art and Design. As a freelance illustrator he works in the fields of editorial illustration, children's and youth illustration as well as for musical theater, drama and opera.
