Gerda is an Estonian illustrator based in Basel. She studied painting and printmaking at the Estonian Academy of Arts and illustration at the Macerata Fine Arts Academy in Italy. Gerda’s nordic roots and closeness to nature are reflected in her poetic imagery. Her work includes picturebooks, magazine illustrations, book covers, posters and more. In 2020 her picture book 'Virmalised' ('The Northern Lights') was selected among Five Most Beautiful Estonian Children's Books.
