Anete Melece, born in 1983, is from Riga and lives with her family in Zurich. She studied at the Art Academy of Latvia and graduated from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts with a Master's degree in Animation Film. She has drawn award-winning animated films and illustrated a number of picture books; her first own, The Kiosk, was published in 2019 and has been translated into over 20 languages.
